Perp Games Proudly Supports New Climate Narrative Resource
At Perp Games, we believe that games have a unique power to not only entertain but to reflect the world we live in and inspire the people who play them. As a proud partner of Playing for the Planet, we are thrilled to share a new resource for the global game development community: Beyond the Endgame: How Climate and Nature Enhance Game Narratives.
What is ‘Beyond the Endgame’?
Unveiled recently by Playing for the Planet, this guide is designed to help studios of all sizes integrate themes of climate, nature, and the environment into their storytelling. As the climate crisis increasingly shapes our daily lives, players are looking for stories that reflect these realities, exploring both the immense challenges and the hopeful possibilities for our planet’s future.
Why This Matters
Beyond the Endgame isn’t just about educational content; it’s about making games better. The guide demonstrates how climate storytelling can:
Enhance Narrative Depth: Create more immersive and emotionally resonant worlds.
Drive Engagement: Connect with modern audiences who care deeply about environmental issues.
Support Brand Growth: Showcases how sustainability-themed narratives can be commercially successful across all genres, budgets, and platforms.
Practical Tools for Studios
Drawing on research and real-world case studies from across the industry, the guidance provides data-backed insights and practical tools adapted from lessons learned in film and television (produced in collaboration with Context Collab and the NRDC’s Rewrite the Future project).
Our Commitment
As a partner of Playing for the Planet, Perp Games is committed to a greener future for the industry. Whether it’s through our physical publishing efforts or the stories we help bring to life, we believe that green storytelling is the next frontier for impactful game design.
We encourage all our fellow developers, partners, and players to take a look at this incredible resource and think about how we can all work together to protect our home level.
